Viet Nam issues list of special preferential tariffs for goods imported from Cuba

The Government has recently issued Decree No 39/2020/ND-CP on a list of Viet Nam’s special preferential import tariffs to implement the Viet Nam – Cuba Free Trade Agreement from now until 2023.

Accordingly, goods subject to the special preferential tax rates must be imported and directly transported to Viet Nam from Cuba in compliance with the trade deal.

They must meet rules of origin as stipulated in the agreement and be accompanied with certificates of origin (C/O).

Goods imported from Viet Nam’s non-tariff areas are also subject to the preferential tariffs if they satisfy these requirements.

The decree will become effective from May 20.
