Sabeco (SAB) throws full weight behind Vietnam through delivery of critical goods in fight against COVID-19

It is no exaggeration to say that the coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) pandemic has adversely affected the lives of millions of people around the world. Its impacts, seen and unseen, will undoubtedly be felt in the years to come.

Countries across the globe are working hard to face the pandemic and Vietnam is no exception. The government has been keeping its eye on the ball since news of the first infections reached Vietnam, and as the situation worsened in other parts of the world, Vietnam was hard at work mobilising and preparing its people for the battle against COVID-19.

Recognising that support is needed from all sectors of the economy and layers of society, Sabeco has made it its responsibility to support and work with the Vietnamese government in strengthening measures to curb the spread of the pandemic.

The Sabeco aid programme has reached 20,000 frontline health and logistics personnel as well as quarantined patients

Sabeco collaborative with its subsidiaries and suppliers, to creat an aid programme for over 20,000 medical and logistical support personnel as well as the patients being monitored in quarantine centres across the country. The company has established partnerships with the Vietnamese Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City, the People’s Committees, including in Can Tho city and Tien Giang province, and the Communist Youth Unions in Khanh Hoa, Ben Tre and Binh Duong to roll out this important initiative in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa, Binh Duong, Can Tho, Ben Tre, Tien Giang provinces.

“In line with the Vietnamese government’s call for action against COVID-19, Sabeco has worked closely with relevant public agencies to determine and address the most critical needs of affected stakeholders as well as ensure that those who are most in need of assistance receive priority,” shares Bennett Neo, Sabeco general director.

Sabeco sees this aid package as its gift of encouragement to all health workers who have been working hard and have shown great resilience in this critical time.

However, the initiative not only reflects the company’s commitment to communities where Sabeco operates, but also to its ecosystem of subsidiaries and suppliers, as the aid programme is a part of Sabeco’s efforts to help them sustain their businesses and ensure stable work for their employees in these difficult times.
