U.S. enterprises encouraged to engage in energy sector

Viet Nam welcomes U.S. enterprises to invest in energy area, said Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung.

Deputy PM Dung praised Gen X Energy for developing an over U$ 6 billion liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Viet Nam.

He affirmed that Viet Nam regards the U.S. as one of its leading partners. The bilateral ties have been developed practically and efficiently of which trade and investment cooperation has become an important foundation and a driving force.

Regarding the energy field, the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding and conducted numerous mechanisms of cooperation.

Viet Nam has pursued sustainable energy security; balanced power demand and supply; and diversified power production materials, said Deputy PM Dung. He went on to say that besides renewable energy, Viet Nam will development LNG energy with a view to replacing other energy.

Hence, the host leader proposed Gen X Energy work closely with Viet Nam and relevant agencies to prepare for the project and promised to provide flexible and attractive incentives for energy investors.

In reply, Mr. Scott Kicker who is the CEO of Gen X Energy affirmed that he would closely cooperate with Vietnamese partners, ministries, agencies, and localities to soon put the project into reality.
