Textile, garment, footwear expos feature 800 booths

Four expos in the textile, garment and footwear industries concurrently kicked off on November 20 under one roof at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in HCMC’s District 7, showcasing a host of products and technology solutions at 800 booths.

Up to 530 exhibitors representing 550 brands from 17 countries and territories including Bangladesh, China, France and India are displaying their products at the four shows: the Vietnam International Textile and Apparel Accessories Exhibition, the 19th Vietnam International Textile and Garment Industry Exhibition (VTG), Vietnam International Footwear Machinery and Material Industry Exhibition (VFM) and the Vietnam International Dyeing and Chemical Industry Exhibition.

The events introduce many new solutions and trends that are expected to help enhance the whole production chain for the local footwear and textile and garment market.

According to the organizing committee, the industries have generated high export value for the local market. Vietnam is gradually consolidating its position in the global footwear and apparel market, as well as attracting many international apparel manufacturers and machinery and material suppliers.

As for the textile and garment industry, Vietnam has become the world’s third largest exporter with an export growth rate exceeding 10% per year. It is expected to earn roughly US$40 billion in textile and garment export activities for 2019.

Further, the Southeast Asian country has established long-term partnerships with multiple nations through the signing of free trade agreements and has become an attractive investment and manufacturing destination.

To ensure the industries’ sustainable development, the Vietnamese Government has encouraged and backed manufacturers to upgrade machinery and train high-quality human resources.

During the January-September period, footwear exports amounted to US$13.25 billion, up nearly 13% versus the same period last year.

The events are jointly organized by Vinexad National Trade Fair and Advertising JSC and Yorkers Trade and Marketing Service Co., Ltd, Hong Kong Apparel Machinery Association, Guangdong Sewing Equipment Chamber of Commerce and Paper Communication Exhibition Services. They will wrap up on November 23.
