Hai Phong Thermal Power sees revenue up 32 per cent in Q3

Hai Phong Thermal Power SJC (HND) saw net revenue rise by 32 per cent in the third quarter of this year, reaching VND2.3 trillion (US$99.4 million).

During the period, financial expense decreased by 72 per cent to VND75 billion while management expense increased by 12 per cent.

As a result, HND enjoyed profit of nearly VND93 billion, it suffered a loss of VND148 billion in the same period last year.

The company attributed the sharp increase in revenue to the rise in electricity output, up by 448 million kWh compared to the third quarter of 2018.

For the first nine months, revenue climbed by 15 per cent to VND8 trillion. Profit touched VND607 billion, up 238 per cent compared to the same period last year. Earnings per share (EPS) was VND1,215.

HND is targeted to earn VND10.2 trillion in revenue and pre-tax profit of VND359 billion in 2019. Therefore, the company has achieved 79 per cent of revenue plan and exceeded 78 per cent profit plan.

As of the end of September, HND had total assets of more than VND12.6 trillion, down VND1.16 trillion compared to the beginning of the year.

Short-term debt remained at about VND1.87 trillion. Long-term debt decreased by VND1.35 trillion to VND4 trillion.

On the market, HND closed Tuesday at VND15,100 per share, up 62 per cent since the beginning of 2019.
