S’pore biz delegation eyes opportunity in Kingdom

A Singapore business delegation is looking for investment opportunities in Cambodia in retail sale, technology, fintech and education, a representative of the delegation said on Wednesday.

The delegation is in Cambodia between Wednesday and Saturday via the Travel and Learn programme organised by Ngee Ann Polytechnic, a Singapore institution of higher learning.

Edwin Tan, a senior lecturer at Ngee Ann told The Post on Wednesday that the delegation comprised 29 Singapore investors. “The Travel and Learn programme focuses on food and beverage, emerging technology and education,” he said.

Young Entrepreneurs Association of Cambodia president Kouch Pheng applauded the move to invest in Cambodia. “Beside real estate, they should see business opportunities in services, production, processing and technology,” he said.

Suon Sophal, the director of the Department of Public Relations and Promotion of Private Investment under the Council for the Development of Cambodia, welcomed the delegation.

“If you want to invest here, the Council for the Development of Cambodia will help you with your projects,” he said.
