Japanese retailer promotes local products

Japanese retailer AEON Vietnam opened on Monday an exhibition at AEON Mall-Tan Phu Celadon in HCMC’s Tan Phu District, showcasing products supplied by by 24 domestic firms.

The week-long exhibition showcases various commodities including tea, coffee, chocolate, cashew and dried fruits; agricultural products such as rice, fruit and organic products; household items; and health foods.

The businesses at the exhibition and meetings could become AEON Vietnam’s suppliers if their products are found to be suitable.

This is the second year AEON Vietnam has collaborated with the Investment and Trade Promotion Centre of HCMC to organize this activity at AEON Vietnam’s shopping mall to help domestic suppliers introduce new products to consumers.

The event provides opportunities for local suppliers to meet consumers and enhance their connection with AEON Vietnam’s distribution system.

Through connecting and directly meeting with suppliers, AEON Vietnam also aims to open new collaboration opportunities with new suppliers to bring their high-quality products to domestic customers and support suppliers and improve product quality to match international standards for exported goods.

AEON is one of the largest retailers in Japan, with a 260-year history. It has established and operated retail chains in Japan and other Asian countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Korea, the Philippines, India, Cambodia and Australia.
