Hau Giang host VN-Thailand shopping and cuisine fair

The Viet Nam – Thailand cuisine and shopping fair opened on Thursday in the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang.

The fair features more than 450 booths, of which 250 display and sell agricultural and forestry products, specialty food, textile and garment products, household appliances, decorations, cosmetics and health care services.

In addition, up to 100 stalls featuring products imported from Thailand, 15 food booths introducing dishes of the provinces and regions in both Viet Nam and Thailand; and 85 booths selling wood and handicrafts products.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tuan said the fair aims to stimulate consumption demand and enable consumers to access quality Vietnamese and Thailand goods.

The event also gives the two countries’ businesses a chance to strengthen exchanges, renew technology to improve product quality and develop markets.

Visitors at the event are also treated to music performances.

The fair will run till August 18, 2019.
