PM to lead delegation in WTO, UNHRC meetings

Prime Minister Hun Sen will lead a delegation to attend the Global Review of Aid for Trade in 2019 meeting at the World Trade Organisation this week, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The meeting will take place between Wednesday and Friday in Geneva, Switzerland, under the theme of Supporting Diversification and Economic Promotion for Sustainable and Prospectus Development through Trade Aid.

The meeting will be aimed at examining how trade aid can effectively support the diversification of the economy, according to the release.

Senior officials set to accompany the prime minister include Minister of Economy and Finance Aun Pornmoniroth and Minister of Commerce Pan Sorasak.

Hun Sen will also give speeches during the meeting about the Kingdom’s economic growth.

According to the release, the prime minister will officially announce Cambodia’s 2019-2023 Trade Integration Strategy.

Besides the meeting, Hun Sen is also scheduled to address the 41st session of the UN Human Rights Council on Cambodia’s commitment to respecting human rights and democracy.
