Over 400 managers of hotels, resorts to discuss tourism growth
More than 400 managers, general managers and directors of hotels and resorts will gather at GM Meeting on May 9 and 10 in Nha Trang City to seek cooperation opportunities and discuss the orientation for tourism growth, a representative of the Vietnam Hotel Association said on May 6.
The meeting will be co-organized by the Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, Viet Hotel Solutions Corporation and Khataco–Liberty JSC on the occasion of the launch of National Tourism Year 2019, themed “Nha Trang-Color of Sea,” in combination with the opening of Nha Trang Sea Festival 2019 on May 11.
“The event is expected to introduce and market Vietnamese tourism and Nha Trang to domestic and international tourists,” Do Hong Xoan, chairwoman of the Vietnam Hotel Association, said, adding that the meeting is tailored to tourism firms and the managers of hotels and resorts, giving them the chance to meet and share their experiences.
As Vietnam aims to welcome 18 million international visitors in 2019 and 20 million in 2020, the event is expected to find ways to fulfill these targets, she said.
Besides this, the GM Meeting 2019 is part of a plan to establish an organization linking the managers of hotels and resorts in Vietnam in training and management activities.
Apart from two topics being presented at the event, “Trend of Vietnam and World Hotel Sector” and “The Fourth Industrial Revolution and Future of Hotel Industry,” the meeting will feature a workshop titled “Prospects of Vietnam Tourism Sector – Opportunities and Challenges,” with the participation of experts from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the Vietnam Hotel Association and the national advisory council on tourism.
