Over 250 Thai firms showcase products in HCMC

More than 250 Thai enterprises are attending the Top Thai Brands 2019, a Thai goods fair, in HCMC to introduce their products to Vietnamese consumers and seek cooperation opportunities with local partners.

The fair is expected to attract some 60,000 visitors. Apparel; automobile and motorbike accessories; beauty and health care products; food and beverages; household appliances; and education, tourism and aviation services are on display.

Suparporn Sookmark, director of the Thai Trade Center in HCMC, noted that Vietnam and Thailand have developed a comprehensive strategic partnership, especially in trade and investment.

She confirmed that Thailand will continue cooperating with Vietnam to ensure both countries’ progress and prosperity.

Multiple Thai firms have invested in Vietnam due to the country’s promising market, its participation in multiple free trade agreements, high economic growth and policies to attract investment, Sookmark added.

The annual Top Thai Brands fair demonstrates the Thai Government’s commitment to fostering relations with Vietnam and raising bilateral trade to US$20 billion by 2020.

The event, which is jointly held by the Thai Ministry of Commerce’s Department of International Trade Promotion, the Thai Trade Center in HCMC and Vietnam National Trade Fair and Advertising Company at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in HCMC’s District 7, will last until May 12.
