Jan-Apr sees over 60,000 new market entrants

More than 43,300 enterprises have been established and nearly 17,500 others have resumed operations in the first four months of the year, according to the General Statistics Office.

 

This month alone saw the introduction of nearly 14,900 startups, with total registered capital of nearly VND167 trillion (US$7.2 billion), up 19% and 30.3%, month-on-month, respectively.

In the January-April period, newly established enterprises had total registered capital of VND542.4 trillion, marking an increase of 31.7% over the same period last year.

In addition, active enterprises have injected more capital, at VND872 trillion in total, bringing the total fresh capital registered in the four-month period to nearly VND1,400 trillion.

Meanwhile, more than 16,980 enterprises have suspended their operations, up 19.7% against the year-ago period, while 17,300 others have begun dissolution proceedings.

Some 5,300 firms have completed dissolution procedures, marking a 12.9% rise versus the same period last year.
