Vinaconex signs MoU with Singaporean firm

Viet Nam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation (Vinaconex) on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding to develop new projects with CPG International, a member of Singapore’s CPG Corporation.

CPG Group becomes the first foreign partner with which Vinaconex has signed a co-operation since the Vietnamese construction firm was privatised in 2016.

At the signing ceremony, Vinaconex and CPG International discussed co-operation opportunities to take advantage of the strengths of each side.

Vinaconex chairman Dao Ngoc Thanh said that through co-operation with CPG International, Vinaconex expects to develop more large-scale projects.

Construction was the core business of Vinaconex, Thanh said, adding that the company would hasten the implementation of Splendora Bac An Khanh urban area in Ha Noi and Cai Gia resort urban area in Hai Phong.

CPG Corporation was previously under the former Public Works Department of Singapore. It is now one of the leading companies in the Asia-Pacific region in infrastructure development and management.

CPG has provided planning consultancies to projects such as Changi Airport, Singapore Parliament House, the Philippines’ Zamboanga Airport, Jakarta Garden City and 5,000-hectare Chhattisgarh Raipur new city.

CPG has representative offices in 20 countries, including Viet Nam. In Viet Nam, it worked on projects such as Golden Square Da Nang complex, Yen So Park and Ecopark Urban Area. It has also provided design consultation for Vinhomes Gardenia, Vinhomes Central Park, T2 Terminal of Noi Bai International Airport and Hanoi Aqua Central complex.
