SCG posts 20% revenue sale increase

SCG, a Thai-owned Southeast Asian conglomerate, reported revenue from sales of more than VND30.96 trillion (US$1.34 billion) from its Viet Nam operations in 2018, up 20 per cent year-on-year.

In the fourth quarter alone, the revenue amounted to VND8.3 trillion ($356 million), SCG’s President and CEO Roongrote Rangsiyopash said. He added the company’s revenues from sales last year came mainly from its chemicals business.

According to Roongrote, SCG will continue to focus on two key strategies including stability which the company has maintained continuously and acted promptly to cope with recent global economic volatility and long-term growth management.

In addition to heightening the development of innovative high value added products and services to raise the living standard and build a sustainable business growth, this year, SCG will focus on delivering solutions to more adequately fulfill customer needs, he said.

Last year, SCG granted scholarships to 20 passionate university students in Viet Nam, who demonstrate good morals and have outstanding academic performance as part of the SCG Sharing the Dream scholarship programme reflecting its commitment to support Vietnamese youths in pursuing their passion for better lives.

Meanwhile, SCG also held the Street Football Festival among thousands of football fans cheering for the teams and special football activities in Ha Noi. Since kicking off the tournament in both HCM City and the capital, there were 140 football teams with nearly 1,000 players participating.

SCG began its business operations in Viet Nam in 1992 and gradually expanded investment in diversified businesses in the cement-building materials, chemicals, and packaging industries.

Today, with 20 companies across the country driven by approximately 8,300 employees, SCG offers a variety of premium products and services to markets.
