VNDS (VND) has biggest share of 2018 derivatives market

VNDirect Securities Corporation (VNDS) had the biggest market share out of futures brokerages on the derivatives market in 2018, according to the Ha Noi Stock Exchange (HNX).

The company occupied nearly 24 per cent of the derivatives market.

It was followed by HCM City Securities Corp (HSC) with 22.4 per cent, MB Securities Corp (MBS) with 16.57 per cent, Saigon Securities Inc (SSI) with 14.53 per cent and VPBank Securities Corp with 13.61 per cent.

VNDS topped the derivatives exchange in terms of futures contract brokerages in the first half of 2018, but ranked second over the remaining six months of the year.

Eight other brokerage companies which have the largest market shares include BIDV Securities Corp (BSC), Viet Capital Securities Corp (VCSC) and Vietcombank Securities Corp (VBSC).

In 2018, VNDS ranked fourth on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) in terms of market share for stock and fund certificate brokerages and sixth for bond brokerages.

On HNX and the Unlisted Public Company Market (UPCoM), VNDS ranked second in both categories.

In the first 11 months of 2018, the company earned VND1.45 trillion (US$62.4 million) in revenue, up 14 per cent year on year.

VNDS has listed more than 220.4 million shares on HoSE with the code VND. Its shares closed down 2.4 per cent at VND16,000 ($0.69) per share on Tuesday.
