Entrepreneurs to promote business
Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), an international network of businessmen, said on Monday it is seeking to establish its presence in Cambodia and bring benefits to the Kingdom’s businessmen.
In a presentation to more than 10 large entrepreneurs in Cambodia outlining the benefits provided by EO, Tungling Group creative director and EO senior member Rosemary Tan Mei Leng said she wants to help the Kingdom’s entrepreneurs become more prosperous.
She added that EO members will receive significant benefits such as sharing and learning from personal experiences and skills with other members, receiving experience from experts and participation in international congress.
“I hope EO will help Cambodia grow fast,” she added.
The global businessmen network was established in the US in 1987 and is present in 57 countries around the world. Its membership currently consists of more than 13,000 business owners and investors worldwide, of which 2,315 are from Asia.
In order to launch a national chapter, the group needs at least 16 members in each country, according to Tan.
“Currently we do not have enough members here, so we will wait for at least 16 members to open in Cambodia,” she said, adding that the Kingdom will be EO’s seventh Asean country, following Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
In order to become a member, entrepreneurs must be the founder, co-founder or controlling shareholder of a company, and the company must also gross a minimum of $1 million in revenue annually.
Kuy Vat – the owner of real estate company VTrust group, and one of the Cambodian EO members – said the network will offer more opportunities to large entrepreneurs in Cambodia to meet world-class merchants, exchange experiences and learn from each other.
“Our entrepreneurial team contacted EO because they noted that currently more Cambodian entrepreneurs are showing a tendency to go abroad,” he said.
Vat added that creating a wider network of contacts could further attract foreign direct investment in Cambodia.
“Our desire is to build relations with large entrepreneurs and bring in foreign direct investment,” he said.
