Vietnam Expo 2018 a playground for businesses

Over the past two decades, the Viet Nam International Trade Fair (Vietnam Expo) has pioneered the creation of diversified product lines, originating from many countries.

The Vietnam Expo 2018, taking place from Wednesday to Saturday in HCM City, features more than 750 enterprises from over 20 countries and territories. The event, sponsored by Lazada and MobiFone, is an important destination and a bridge connecting Vietnamese and international businesses.

The number of participating firms increased by 30 per cent over last year’s event. This year, Egypt and Iran will be attending the event for the first time. Commodities showcased include electronic products, household appliances, spare parts, industrial machines, equipment and exterior and interior furniture. In addition, services related to finance, telecommunications and e-commerce are also integral parts of each trade fair.

Vietnam Expo witnessed 18,750 visitors in 2017, of which 36 per cent were foreigners.

“We greatly appreciate the role and prestige of Vietnam Expo in connecting businesses, especially those who are looking to expand their exports. We would like to introduce MobiFone roaming service and new products and services on the 4.0 platform launched at Vietnam Expo this time,” said Nguyen Mau Khue, Director of MobiFone’s International Telecom Centre.

The fair, aiming to increase exports and enhance regional and international economic connectivity, has been hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Trade Promotion Agency and Vinexad Company over the past two decades.

At this year’s event, Belarus is the guest of honour.

“Belarus always regards Viet Nam as an important partner in the region and hopes to continue promoting key projects between the two countries. The Belarusian government has made a written request calling to promote trade between the two countries, with turnover reaching US$500 million by 2019,” said Deputy Minister of Industry of Belarus Alexander Ogorodnikov.

Belarus has chosen Vietnam Expo as a destination for their enterprises to expand investment promotion in many fields. In 2016, Belarus was also the guest of honour at Vietnam Expo held in Ha Noi. This year, Belarus expects to continue seeking co-operation with Vietnamese firms at a higher level, especially those based in the south.

Nearly 60 leading Belarusian businesses will offer their key products such as agricultural machinery, urban infrastructure facilities, chemical and petrochemicals, prominent development projects model of Belarusian scholars and the latest innovations in the production of pharmaceuticals, food and beverages.

A series of major Belarusian brands like Belaz, MAZ, MTZ, Belshina, BelFert, Belmed, Borimed, Bellakt, and Kommunarka are presenting at the expo.

The event includes 800 booths exhibiting various products at the Sai Gon Exhibition and Convention Centre, No 799 Nguyen Van Linh, Tan Phu Ward, District 7, HCM City.
