General Department of Taxation collects $2B
The General Department of Taxation (GDT) collected more than $2 billion in revenue during the first 11 months of the year, an increase of 12.48 per cent compared to the same period last year, a Tuesday departmental report said.
It showed tax revenue collection in the first 11 months of the year increased by $228 million to more than $1.82 billion – a 12.48 per cent rise or equal to 106.88 per cent of the annual planned increase.
The report shows that in November alone, all tax revenues collection amounted to around $187.50 million, equal to 9.75 per cent of the annual plan, an increase of $43.79 million in the same month last year.
Tax Department head Kong Vibol said: “In response to tax payers, [we] need to make them willing and happy to pay tax, and cooperate well in order to do so.”
