VinFast, Petrolimex ink deal on service chain for vehicles

Vietnamese automaker VinFast and the Viet Nam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) on Thursday signed a cooperation agreement on building a service chain for all VinFast products.

Under the agreement, at Petrolimex’s petrol stations, VinFast will plan to develop a service system for vehicles including charging stations and battery rentals for electric vehicles; stations for inspections, maintenance and repair of automobiles as well as electric scooters.

The two sides will also invest in roadside rest stations and convenience stores, in order to serve VinFast customers and other means of transportation.

In addition, Vingroup and Petrolimex will cooperate in the field of non-cash payments, using co-branded payment instruments VinID and Petrolimex, in combination with a capable financial institution to provide modern services for customers.

On October 25, VinFast also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vietnam Oil Corporation (PV Oil) on implementing charging stations and leasing batteries for electric vehicles.

In just 14 days, VinFast has cooperated with two leading petroleum retailers in Viet Nam, with a total of about 3,600 petrol stations and 7,000 dealers in 63 provinces and cities nationwide. These agreements are an important foundation for VinFast to build a nationwide service ecosystem with complete utilities for all products, with a particular emphasis on electric vehicles.

For the first phase, VinFast will focus on deploying charging and battery rental stations at Petrolimex and PV Oil facilities, in combination with those under the management of Vingroup such as VinMart + convenience stores, Vinhomes urban area and authorised dealers to serve Klara electric scooters and other types of electric vehicles in the future. By 2020, VinFast plans to deploy 30,000 to 50,000 charging points and battery rental stations for electric vehicles across the country.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Nguyen Viet Quang, general director of Vingroup, said VinFast wants to offer customers a smart transportation solution and an eco-friendly system for the first time in Viet Nam.

“VinFast customers not only experience quality products with international standards but also enjoy high-quality and convenient after-sales services,” he added.
