Saigon Hi-Tech Park attracts AI projects

Twenty-one local and international experts shared research results on robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) technology at the Saigon Hi-Tech Park 5th International Conference that opened on Friday in HCM City.

The annual one-day event, with the theme “Robotics and Artificial Intelligence”, promotes cooperation among scientists, experts and enterprises at home and abroad in the fields of science and technology.

Robotics and AI are advanced technologies that can help HCM City build and develop its economy in the Industry 4.0 era, especially its Smart City project, said Le Hoai Quoc, head of Saigon Hi-Tech Park’s board of management.

At the event, Vietnamese enterprises can access technology from foreign enterprises and institutions, and learn how to shorten the time for research, development and commercialisation of products.

“We expect to have more investment projects in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence in the Saigon Hi-Tech Park as well as opportunities for R&D cooperation between universities, research institutes and Vietnamese enterprises with international partners,” he said.

Topics under discussion include human–robot interaction in Industry 4.0, robotics and artificial intelligence application for smart cities, and Viet Nam in the Era of robotics and AI.

Speakers at the conference included professors from the University of Birmingham in UK, Marquette University and Southern Methodist University in the US, Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto University and the Institute of Advanced Science and Technology in Japan.

One of the highlights of the conference is an exhibition on achievements in research and application of robotics and AI from leading manufacturers of robots in Vietnam and abroad.
