Building excellence and responsibility in Vietnam

Despite many ups and downs on the Vietnamese real estate market, Singaporean developer CapitaLand has perfectly navigated the headwinds, gradually building trust among local consumers alongside active engagement into philanthropic activities to bring benefits to local community.

As one of Asia’s largest real estate developers, CapitaLand has been established in Vietnam for 24 years, ever since the country launched its doi moi policy to attract foreign investors.

In the words of the company’s CEO Chen Lian Pang, the Vietnamese real estate market proves very up and coming, leveraging the country’s young population, swift urbanisation speed, and huge demand for housing.

Looking back on CapitaLand’s development journey in Vietnam as well as its contribution to society, he said, “We are proud of our smart home designs, which ensure the best use of every space in the homes.

“Optimising the use of natural sunlight and wind is also a top focus to mitigate the need for electrical use. Also, our projects are always environmentally friendly, with the designs bringing humanitarian values, such as being accessible for disabled persons, and paired with harmonious facade designs. Our projects, therefore, have contributed to beautifying the areas they are located in,” he said.

This year is particularly successful for the Singaporean developer, as the company was honoured with a raft of prestigious awards. Most significantly, the company was named the “Best Developer in Vietnam” at the PropertyGuru Vietnam Property Awards 2018 for the second consecutive year. Among its award-wining projects is De La Sol, currently the only residential project to be developed by CapitaLand in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 4.

Uniquely designed around a musical theme, De La Sol offers over 50 facilities and features for residents. De La Sol also introduces the first Dual and Triple Key units to the Vietnamese market, fully finished with fittings such as smart locks for convenient living and renting.

D2eight is CapitaLand’s first landed development in Vietnam, an exclusive community with only 28 units in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 2. In line with its “urban jungle” theme, each unit contains seven floors of efficiently built-up space. True to its tagline, D2eight offers “28 Spaces, Infinite Possibilities”.

D’Edge Thao Dien is a wellness-themed luxury development with 273 apartment units in the heart of Thao Dien – the most established expatriate enclave in Ho Chi Minh City, offering a spectacular view of the Saigon River. With an unparalleled product and location in the market, D’Edge Thao Dien stands as a prime investment of choice in Ho Chi Minh City.

The design of Faifo Lane is inspired by an urban interpretation of the ancient town of Hoi An, previously known as “Faifo”. Faifo Lane is the perfect place for families, friends, and couples to unwind by walking through the lantern lanes or relaxing on the artistic long chairs and enjoying a variety of food and beverages and other convenient services. This is a community mall where relationships are built by enjoying various activities together, like weekend markets or festive and community events.

Each year, CapitaLand sets aside 0.5 per cent of its profits to finance its independently operating charity fund, CapitaLand Hope Foundation. The fund has built three CapitaLand Hope schools in Vietnam, striving to bring quality education to 650 underprivileged children. When the schools’ construction neared completion, the fund even called on CapitaLand staff to act as volunteers in the finishing stage, engaging in painting walls, planting trees in school yards, and more. The company’s management wants the staff to partake in bringing benefits to the local communities in the areas in which they are operating.
