Vietjet (VJC) to advance cash dividend

Vietjet shareholders will be advanced 2018’s cash dividend payment at the rate of 20 per cent in addition to a recent 20 per cent share dividend, thanks to the airline’s positive performance in the first months of the year.

Vietjet will pay the dividend on September 19. With charter capital of VND5.41 trillion (US$240 million), Vietjet will spend more than VND1 trillion to advance the first dividend payment of 2018.

The airline plans to pay a dividend half in shares and half in cash.

Last year, Vietjet approved a dividend payout ratio of 50 per cent and after that shareholders decided to increase to 60 per cent thanks to positive business results.

Closing the trading session on Friday, VJC share price was VND151,000, an increase of 24.8 per cent over the beginning of the year.

Vietjet’s total revenue in the first half of this year stood at VND21.2 trillion, a yearly increase of 29 per cent, while its post-tax profit rose by 26 per cent on-year to VND2.37 trillion.

From January to June, Vietjet led the domestic passenger sector with 59,944 flights, up nearly 22 per cent. The on-time performance stood at 83 per cent.
