ABB is set to show off its cutting-edge portfolio

ABB will demonstrate its latest technologies at a high-level forum and international exhibition as part of the Vietnam Industry 4.0 Summit 2018 to contribute to shaping smart industry and smart cities in the country.

Following the success of the Vietnam Smart Industry World 2017 Conference and Expo last year, ABB will take part in a series of activities at the Vietnam Industry 4.0 Summit 2018, which has the theme “The Vision and Development Strategy in the Fourth Industrial Revolution”, on July 12-13.

The Industry 4.0 Summit 2018 will focus on discussing the current status of the deployment and application of Industry 4.0 in Vietnam, the role of policymakers in formulating a proactive approach to Industry 4.0, and international co-operation. It will also focus on proposing solutions and options to optimise breakthrough technologies in all socio-economic fields.

ABB will represent technology corporations in an exclusive meeting with the prime minister and will exchange views on the topic, “Vietnam is faced with both opportunities and challenges from Industry 4.0. What must Vietnam do to take advantage of the opportunities and overcome the challenges?”

Over the two days, ABB will be active in conference sessions to participate in executive dialogues with government and ministries and will deliver a presentation entitled “Leveraging Digital and Industry 4.0 to deliver tangible returns” on the topic of developing a smart manufacturing industry with vision and technology solutions.

Hosted by the governmnent, the Vietnam Central Party Economic Commissions and many ministries, the State Bank of Vietnam, the Hanoi People’s Committee, and IEC Group, the Industry 4.0 Summit 2018 is expected to welcome over 800 delegates from C-level up and over 1,500 delegates from government agencies, central departments, local authorities, international organisations in Vietnam, and enterprises.

BRINGING THE LATEST TECHNOLOGIES AND SOLUTIONS

The Fourth Industrial Revolution is becoming more and more tangible, impacting many aspects of socio-economic life on a global scale. It offers tremendous opportunities to change the face of economies, but also bears incalculable risks.

ABB will showcase new experiences with technology and smart manufacturing applications and products from sustainable development to digitisation and smarter mobility, among other things.

ABB will highlight the power of connectivity and innovations to support acceleration of digitisation in Vietnam, embracing the overall theme of the event.

ABB’s showcase at the exhibition, themed “Driving Vietnam towards sustainable development through digitalisation”, will include the ABB Ability Collaborative Operations Center, a service delivery model which connects people in production facilities, headquarters, and ABB. It delivers objective data insights that

ultimately increase customers’ profitability by improving plant efficiency, increasing safety, reducing risk, and lowering costs. This approach bundles industry knowledge, cloud-based solutions, and services into a 24/7 service delivery concept.

Also on display will be the dual-arm ABB YuMi - IRB 14000, the world’s first truly collaborative robot. YuMi is a cutting-edge solution that is suitable for manufacturers operating in Vietnam’s electronics industry to meet flexible and agile production needs while allowing a collaborative working environment with humans. YuMi was developed to bring small parts assembly and other automation manufacturing industry applications into a new era where there is a requirement for humans and robots to work in collaboration.

ABB’s AC wallbox charging solution, part of ABB’s full range of charging devices for electric vehicles, will be introduced for the first time in the Vietnamese market. The innovation ensures easy fast-charging at service stations or even at home for all common electric and hybrid vehicles such as cars, buses, and trucks, at minimal cost. Operators can gather vital information on demand patterns and system performance that can be utilised to meet the smarter mobility needs of the next generation.

ABB started its operations in Vietnam in 1993. In the 25 years since, it has grown to be a reliable partner in the field of technology, providing turnkey solutions and services in the market. In addition, ABB facilities manufacture transformers, high-voltage components, and medium-voltage power products for customers across the globe.
