AEON Vietnam seeks suppliers and manufacturers

Japan’s leading retailer AEON is looking for domestic and foreign manufacturers and suppliers to increase the presence of locally-produced goods in its retail chains.

After five years of operation, AEON Vietnam has partnered with over 2,000 domestic suppliers with over 40,000 products being sold in AEON’s shopping centres and supermarkets nationwide. The retailer is now seeking more local and foreign suppliers for its retail chain in Vietnam, including four AEON Malls, 53 supermarkets, and 110 convenience stores.

Meanwhile, AEON TOPVALU Vietnam is looking for manufacturers who are capable of producing goods under the TOPVALU brand to sell in its chain in Vietnamese and overseas markets. TOPVALU is a private brand developed by AEON, with high standards and strict quality management procedures from planning to production and distribution. TOPVALU has become one of the largest private brands in Japan with more than 6,000 products.

2018 marks the first year TOPVALU products are being produced in cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises. Up to now, AEON TOPVALU has joined forces with 30 Vietnamese suppliers to produce 15 products—but the number is expected to reach 100 by the end of the year.

To attract more suppliers and manufacturers, AEON Vietnam in collaboration with AEON Association has recently organised the AEON Suppliers Conference. This is the first activity that AEON Association implements to find potential and strategic partners in Vietnam. The conference has attracted more than 100 domestic and 30 foreign enterprises, which have been important partners of AEON Vietnam, AEON TOPVALU Vietnam, and AEON Retail Japan in the recent years.

At the conference, AEON shared with its domestic and foreign manufacturers and suppliers its business policy and strategy in Vietnam as well as its strategy of developing new products for domestic consumption and export.

In addition, AEON also expects to further strengthen collaboration with local suppliers for mutual sustainable development, improving the living standards of Vietnamese people, promoting the export of Vietnamese goods to Japan and Asian countries, and contributing to the country’s economic growth.
