EVN sells over 58bn kWh of electricity
Electricity of Viet Nam (EVN) sold over 58 billion kWh of electricity in the first four months of 2018, representing a year-on-year increase of 10.59 per cent.
The domestic commercial power output rose by 10.51 per cent in the four-month period, according to EVN.
In April alone, EVN sold over 16 billion kWh of electricity, up by 10.34 per cent against the same month last year.
Electricity losses in January-April were estimated at 6.81 per cent, 0.39 percentage points lower than the set target of 7.2 per cent.
In April, the group ensured stable and safe supply of electricity for the whole country, especially during the four-day holiday on April 30 (South Vietnam Liberation and National Reunification Day) and May 1 (International Labour Day).
EVN produced and bought 67 billion kWh of power in the four months, a year-on-year increase of 11.08 per cent, including 18.03 billion kWh in April. Power transmission in April was estimated at 15.3 billion kWh, and the figure for the four months was 56.4 billion kWh, up by 10.8 per cent over the same period last year.
Last month, EVN completed the divestment at Thu Duc Electro Mechanical Joint Stock Company, collecting VND77.51 billion (US$3.4 million).
The group said it would work out measures to meet the electricity demand across the country, especially in the second quarter of 2018, peak of the dry season.
It expects a growth of some 12.5 per cent in demand this year.
EVN will push forward with the equitisation of EVN Power Generation Corporation 1 and 2 in addition to deploying measures to start one-stop-shop services in southern HCM City and northern Bac Ninh Province.
It plans to hold the first meeting of shareholders at the EVN Power Generation Corporation 3 after the Prime Minister approves the adjustment of the corporation’s equitisation plan.
