Vinaphone targets over US$61m pre-tax profit in 2018

National mobile network operator Vinaphone targets a pre-tax profit of VND1.4 trillion (US$61.4 million) in 2018, a year-on-year increase of 6.7 per cent.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Viet Nam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), Vinaphone was established for the main business of telecommunication products and services, namely information technology and broadcasting services.

Its development plan for 2017-20 period targets a total revenue of more than VND183.8 trillion and profit of nearly VND5.9 trillion, equivalent to a growth of 8 per cent and 10 per cent per year, respectively.

In terms of business results of 2017, Vinaphone recorded over VND39.8 billion in sales and services and over VND1.3 trillion in pre-tax profit. In addition to this, Vinaphone has contributed approximately VND1.22 trillion to the State budget.

Last year, the corporation hit 34 million telephone subscribers, including 3.1 million fixed-line subscribers and 31.1 million mobile subscribers, besides 4.6 million internet subscribers.

Vinaphone’s total investment last year was VND646.5 billion.
