Smart Industry World 2017 to shape Vietnamese smart industry
Held for the first time in Vietnam, Smart Industry World 2017 saw the participation of state management bodies, researchers, experts, and the business community to discuss future orientations and methods to attract investment and develop the Vietnamese smart industry.
Organised on December 4-5, Smart Industry World 2017, themed “Shaping and Developing Smart Manufacturing Industries in the Future,” is a large-scale international event on smart technology, consisting of a series of four seminars and an exhibition on technologies under Industry 4.0.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc stressed that the event offered an opportunity for Vietnam to identify advantages, difficulties, and challenges to determine the orientation, major tasks, and measures necessary to develop its smart industry in the near future.
He noted that the Vietnamese government should focus on guiding the building and development of the digital economy and the smart industry, considering them as key tasks in restructuring the economy as well as shifting the growth model towards improved productivity, quality, efficiency, and competitiveness.
He also identified several key tasks and solutions ahead: improving institutions, mechanisms, policies, and laws for the development of the digital economy and smart industry; strong application of information and technology in administrative reforms; building out the e-government; and provision of online public services.
The event had more than 50 booths showcasing the smart technology solutions of the world’s leading producers and technology companies from the US, the European Union, Israel, South Korea, and Japan, including Siemens, Schneider, ABB, and Samsung.
The exhibition was divided into three parts: fintech, software and information infrastructure and hardware (robot, automation and smart city models).
“Siemens allows visitors to explore in detail its range of automation and digitalisation technologies across five processes, including Product Design, Production Planning, Production Engineering, Production Execution, and Services,” said the representative of Siemens.
Meanwhile, with a global presence in over 100 countries, Schneider is the undisputable leader in Power Management-Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, Secure Power, and Automation Systems.
“We provide integrated efficiency solutions, combining energy, automation, and software,” Schneider’s representative noted.
At its booth, ABB has introduced TXpertTM—the world’s first digital distribution transformer—smart sensors for motors, flexible picking robotic solutions, and other leading technologies. These unique and new solutions provide opportunities for businesses to transform efficiency, uptime, and flexibility through remote monitoring, online big data analysis, and predictive technology.
For the keynote address, together with government leaders and the Ministry of Science and Technology, ABB delivered a paper titled "Transforming the Economy through Digital Technologies" and a presentation on “Smart Technology for Clean Water Distribution Systems in Vietnam" during the conference session titled “Building Smart Cities: Vision & Strategy.”
Through its presentations, ABB will share best practices of its digital technology applications in industries across the world and Vietnam.
