Red Star Awards 2017 honors outstanding young entrepreneurs
A Red Star Awards ceremony was held in Ha Noi on Thursday to celebrate the most outstanding Vietnamese young entrepreneurs for their achievements in business and economy-building.
At the ceremony, 100 young Vietnamese businesspeople who rose to prominence in 2017 were honoured, including 10 best entrepreneurs who were awarded the Red Star Awards 2017. This year, votes went to young entrepreneurs holding key positions in enterprises with excellent achievements in production and business activities and who actively participate in community development, among others.
They are typical of young entrepreneurs, representing the intellectual, dynamic and creative nature of the younger generation nationwide. These examples of the country’s young adults arouse the spirit of self-determination, contributing to the development of the nation.
The top 100 awardees generated total revenue of nearly VND320.7 trillion (US$14.1 billion) last year, contributing approximately VND40.68 trillion to the State budget and creating jobs for 119,000 people.
Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh insisted that the Party and the State always appreciated the role of the business team and businesspeople in the construction and development of the country. The achievements of the country in 2017 saw great contributions from the nation’s entrepreneurs, including young entrepreneurs.
Considering the difficulties and challenges facing Viet Nam’s economy in the context of the 4.0 Industrial Rrevolution, Binh asked enterprises and entrepreneurs to constantly innovate, be creative and adapt quickly with new economic models, expanding the scope of business to the global front.
Binh also expressed his belief that the Red Star Award winners would strive to be worthy of the award, doing professional business to develop more sustainably, contributing to making Viet Nam a modern industrialised country in the new era.
In 2017, the council voted for 100 outstanding young Vietnamese businessmen and the Sao Do Awards to promote the criteria of sustainable development, integration, social responsibility and business ethics of enterprises.
The Red Star Awards were created by the Viet Nam Youth Union in 1999 to honour outstanding entrepreneurs for their economic achievements and contributions to social development.
