Lazada to close the year with a bang

On December 11-14, Lazada will hit the reset button for the annual sales season named “Online Revolution” following the previous successful mega sales dated on November 9-11 with 1.5 million products sold within three days.

Prior to the December sales, the e-commerce website signed a strategic partnership agreement with Vietcombank, with the approval of State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), as part of the firm’s cross-border strategy, creating shopping deals for Lazada’s cross-sellers.

Thanks to this cooperation, shoppers in Vietnam will be offered more payment options for cross-border purchases by both cash-on-delivery (COD) and credit card payments throughout the whopping December sales.

Previously, Lazada has cooperated with 18 banks, enabling the online shopping platform to offer discounts up to VND2 million for all orders paid by Visa or through bank accounts at Citibank, BIDV, and TP Bank.

Talking about the two sales campaigns of “Online Revolution,” Alexandre Dardy, CEO of Lazada Vietnam, said, “The success of our first mega sales during November 9-11 with 16 million website visits and about 1.5 million products purchased within three days is an astonishing sign encouraging us to better prepare in every aspect for this final sale of the year.”

The mega sales season for the year 2017, themed “Meteor Sales,” commits to delivering millions of products, such as branded cosmetics, apparel and fashion accessories, TVs and other nifty electronics, as well as household essentials which are manufactured and shipped from all over the world at competitive prices.

Dardy also added, “Our strategic partnership with Vietcombank, who has great advantages and experience in the field of international payments, will help make payments for products from abroad easier. Lazada has been providing an unlimited online shopping experience to Vietnamese consumers, helping to emphasise the power and potential of ecommerce.”

Additionally, Lazada will continue the partnership with brands like Samsung, Abbott, Huggies, Philips, Comet, Rohto, Unilever, Bosch, Magic Korea, Biti’s, and Kangaroo, promising to deliver discounts of up to 50 per cent.

Owing to the partnership with Vietcombank, Lazada will be the first e-commerce firm in Vietnam offering cross-border payment methods with the approval of the State Bank of Vietnam, simplifying the purchasing process for the majority of consumers at Lazada.

“Online Revolution” is seen as the biggest shopping event in Southeast Asia. The sales event has been introducing Vietnamese consumers to online shopping since December 12, 2012.
