Ha Noi Gift Show boasts 650 booths
More than 650 booths are showcasing handicrafts and gift items at the sixth annual Ha Noi Gift Show, which opened on Tuesday.
The event attracted the participation of 250 enterprises and production facilities from nearly 30 provinces and cities in Viet Nam, as well as five other countries including China, Japan, South Korea, India and Nepal.
There are six main product categories at the fair: home decor and handicrafts, indoor and outdoor furniture, home textiles and embroidery, gifts and ethnic items, personal accessories and other craft products.
The fair is aimed at creating the best opportunity for Viet Nam’s handicraft, home decor and gift enterprises to establish contacts and relationships with potential national and international buyers. This is the first time that the entire exhibition space is designed in open style.
Cao Quoc Hung, deputy minister of Industry and Trade, said Ha Noi was the leading region in Viet Nam in terms of the number of handicraft villages, with nearly 1,000 handicraft villages, including over 200 traditional handicraft villages. The city has also thousands of enterprises and handicraft production facilities, with more than 3,000 of them producing for export.
The event is organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in co-operation with Ha Noi People’s Committee. It is being held at the Exhibition, Fair, Economic Transaction and Commerce Area on Hoang Quoc Viet Street in the capital’s Cau Giay District. The show runs until October 20.
