SVEAM works to boost export of agricultural machinery

Southern Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Co., Ltd (SVEAM) said it was making serious efforts to improve product quality so as to export more Viet Nam-branded agricultural machinery.

SVEAM said it spent VND120 billion (US$5.28 million) in the first phase and VND40 billion in the second phase to enhance and promote the quality of its diesel-powered machines and small-d tractors.

The company currently owns around 60 precision machining centres, 400 specialised equipment, and modern measurement and testing devices, to check and ensure that its products are reliable and of high-quality.

Two of SVEAM’s brands, Vikyno and Vinappro, use 90-100 per cent locally-made components, the firm said, adding that these brands have become popular in foreign markets, especially in Southeast Asia and South Asia.

The export revenue from these brands is around $10-$12 million per year, accounting for 40 per cent of SVEAM’s total overseas shipments.

SVEAM specialises in producing and providing diesel-powered and petrol-powered machines as well as spare parts serving the aqua-agro-forestry sector.

The company’s products are also exported to ASEAN countries, in addition to some Asian and European countries.
