Italy to boost ties with Binh Duong

The Union of the Chambers of Commerce of Emilia-Romagna together with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Viet Nam (ICHAM) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with southern Binh Duong Province on November 13.

According to the MoU, the concerned parties would co-operate on trade and investment promotion issues, creating a bridge between Vietnamese and Italian businesses, and particularly help Italian companies invest in Bình Dương.

Italian companies who come to the province to exchange understanding, finance projects in fields such as technology, research or healthcare, or to increase partnership between regions in Italy and Bình Dương province, will receive help and support.

Fulvio Albano, President of ICHAM, expressed his optimism about the MoU, saying it would open up new opportunities for businesses from both countries, not just the regions mentioned.

Mai Hùng Dũng, Deputy Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bình Dương Province said in his speech at the signing that at the moment, Bình Dương had attracted more than 2,800 foreign companies with total foreign direct investment of US$25.3 billion, and he believed Italy in general, and the region of Emilia-Romagna in particular, had great potential to invest further in the province, especially in area of technology.

On this occasion, the Chambers of Commerce of Emilia-Romagna, ICHAM, business representatives from Torino, Italy and Bình Dương’s Becamex IDC attended a conference on smart technology in agriculture, biology and food in the province.
