Sihanoukville casino gambled with an expired licence

Preah Sihanouk provincial authorities have ordered a casino that operated in Sihanoukville shut down after it failed to renew its operating licence, local media reported yesterday.

According to the reports, a document dated October 12 and signed by Provincial Governor Yun Min ordered the closure of Pao Tu casino, explaining that the casino’s licence had expired at the end of 2015, and the business had not complied with directives issued by the Council of Ministers in January.

The document added the casino’s owner should apply for a new licence from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and that it would need to find a new location approved by the relevant authorities if it wished to operate in the province.
