Vietnam coffee prices hit highest in over 18 months

Coffee prices in Vietnam, the world's largest robusta producer, rose to 39.4 million-40.0 million dong ($1,767-$1,794) a tonne on Wednesday, their highest in over an 18 months, traders said.

 

At 40 million dong in the top growing province of Daklak, the price is the highest since Feb. 24, 2015, according to Thomson Reuters data.

International robusta futures climbed to an 18-month high on Tuesday and arabica coffee also advanced, buoyed by poor weather in Brazil and Indonesia that has curbed production, and a weaker U.S. dollar. ($1=22,300 dong).
