Chinese firm sinks $6M into new local feed mill

The Chinese-owned Sichuan New Hope Agribusiness (Cambodia) Co, Ltd has invested $6 million to establish a second animal feed mill in Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone for domestic use, state-owned media outlet AKP reported yesterday.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Du Jiang Ping, director of New Hope, and Veng Sakhon, minister of agriculture, forestry and fisheries (MAFF).

Sakhorn welcomed the new factory and was quoted as saying this was in line with the government’s 2014-2018 agricultural policy, and would create more local jobs.
