Ha Giang hydropower plant powers up

The Nho Que 2 hydropower plant in the northern mountainous Ha Giang Province completed its 72-hour trial on Tuesday, officially generating electricity commercially and integrating into the national power grid.

The Nho Que 2 hydropower project, located in Meo Vac Town, was launched in June 2014 with a total investment of some VND1.5 trillion. It covered Lung Pu, Can Chu Phin, Giang Chu Phin, Xin Cai and Son Vi communes in Meo Vac District, Ha Giang Province.

More than four years on, the construction of the plant has now been completed and has a total output of 48MW. The Nho Que 2 hydropower plant will officially be put into stable operation, be integrated into the National Grid, provide the targeted annual power output and ensure the security of national power.

Following the success of the Nho Que 3 Hydropower Plant on Nho Que River, BITEXCO, the investor, is continuing construction of the Nho Que 2 hydropower plant and will then move on to Nho Que 1 hydropower plant in the mountains of the northeast, bringing the total number of factories with generators operated by BITEXCO to 15 plants.
