Factories create 12,000 new first-quarter jobs

Forty factories were registered during the first three months of the year, creating over 12,000 jobs, according to new data by the Ministry of Industry and Handicraft.

The newly registered factories bring the total number of registered factories in Cambodia to 1,490, providing jobs for over 872,000 workers.

Meanwhile, the ministry data reveals 74 new SME registrations during the first quarter, bringing the total to 38,933. SMEs provided nearly 200,000 jobs.
