Budget carrier Vietjet Air has announced that it will operate two new nonstop flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Kuala Lumpur and from the Vietnamese city to the Taiwanese city of Tainan in the next two months, with 50,000 promotional tickets to be offered.

Flights on the Ho Chi Minh City-Kuala Lumpur route will be available daily from June 1, with flight length being one hour 55 minutes, the airline said on Tuesday.

Passengers depart from Ho Chi Minh City at 9:30 am and arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 12:25 pm. Return flights take off from Kuala Lumpur at 1:00 pm and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 1:55 pm.

Services on the Ho Chi Minh City-Tainan City route will be offered every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from June 22, with flight duration lasting around three hours 15 minutes.

Planes leave Ho Chi Minh City at 10:45 am and land in Tainan City at 3:00 pm. Return flights take off from Tainan at 4:00 pm and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 6:15 pm.

To celebrate the upcoming routes, Vietjet is launching a seven-day promotion with 50,000 tickets sold at the minimum price of $US0 from Tuesday to Monday next week, between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm.

The promotion is applicable to all tickets for routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Kuala Lumpur, Tainan and Taipei, the carrier said.

The promotional travel period for the Ho Chi Minh City-Kuala Lumpur route is from June 1 to October 30, while it is from June 22 to October 30 for the Ho Chi Minh-Tainan/Taipei service, the aviation firm noted, adding that the period excludes public holidays.
