Hai Phong attracts $62.25 million in FDI projects

The northern port city of Hai Phong attracted two new foreign direct investment (FDI) projects worth US$62.25 million in the first quarter of this year.

 

SL Electronics Co. Ltd from the Republic of Korea (RoK) invested $42.25 million in a project which will manufacture spare parts for electronic household appliances and motors. And the RoK investor HSColor injected $20 million in a project which will manufacture printing products, components for mobile phones, and parts for vehicles, including cars and motorcycles.

The two projects are scheduled to start this September.

Another $88 million was also invested in three ongoing projects in Hai Phong during the first quarter of 2016.

The city has 460 valid FDI projects, so far, with a total registered capital of $11.113 billion.

Hai Phong is currently accelerating the implementation of key infrastructure projects, including Cat Bi International Airport, Tan Vu-Lach Huyen Highway and Bridge project, Hai Phong International Gateway Port, and Bach Dang bridge.
