Vietnam Party chief visits leading modern coconut factory in Ben Tre

In mid March 2016, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, along with a delegation of local officials, paid a visit to Thanh Thanh Cong Factory in Phong Nam Industrial Zone, Giong Trom District, Ben Tre Province.

Thanh Thanh Cong Factory is a branch of Ben Tre Import Export Joint Stock Company (Betrimex), which is a member of TTC Group.

The factory, spanning a total land area of more than 7.5 hectares, was established in 2014 at an investment of more than US$20 million by TTC and Betrimex, in an attempt to upgrade the level of Vietnam’s agricultural products, according to Mr. Dang Van Thanh, Chairman of TTC Group.

It was officially put into operation in June 2015 with a capacity of 19 million liters of coconut water and 14,040 metric tons of coconut milk per year.

Thanh Thanh Cong Factory is the first of its kind in Vietnam to apply the advanced European UHT technology in production line, providing canned coconut water in four flavors: Green, Lotus, Kumquat and Pineapples.

This aims at leading the new trend in farm produce business in Ben Tre and Vietnam as well and promoting all the economic potentials of the homeland, towards affirming Vietnamese-branded agricultural products in the international market with high quality of products and services.

Thanh Thanh Cong Factory is the leading in the application of the modern UHT technology in canned coconut water production line.

Besides investing in modern technology, Betrimex also focuses on developing the sustainable material areas, closely cooperating with coconut growing farmers through many collaboration programs in coconut production – processing – consumption and the advanced quality management system.

The representative of Betrimex said they would expand the volume of production and distribution systems in both of domestic and foreign market, creating jobs for local workers in order to contribute to the economic development of the home province.
