Russian firm ENEX to study dam feasibility

The Ministry of Mines and Energy has signed a memorandum of understanding with Russian engineering firm ENEX to conduct a feasibility study on the construction of the proposed Stung Battambang II dam, a ministry spokesman said yesterday.

The 36 MW hydroelectric dam would be built in Battambang province’s Samlot district near the Thai border. No further details of the project were provided.
