Athena Hotel offers high end rooms

Athena Hotel, a three star hotel in Champassak province, anticipates that it will offer the best services for its customers domestically and internationally in the years to come as it seeks the opportunities offered by Asean Eco nomic Community integration.

“Obviously, we can see the flow of tourists f rom Asia and Europe visiting Laos, especially in Champassak province, so we are also ready to roll out the welcome mats for them,” said the owner of Athena Hotel Ms Sompasong Sackda last week.

She also said that her hotel officially opened for services in 2011, which drew a huge number of tourists from Asia and Europe to stay at Athena.

“If you asked what are the differences that my hotel offers, well it is not so different from other hotels in Champassak province but we offer the friendly services of our well-trained employees, which is our strength,” she said.

Ms Sompasong said her plan is to upgrade the capacity of her staffers so they can offer high quality and international standards as well as build the capacity of her chefs to be able to cook more new dishes and international cuisines.

Athena Hotel not only provides comfortable rooms, a restaurant and an outdoor pool; being only a 10-mi nute walk from the centre of Pakxe district it is most convenient. It also has free Wi-Fi, which is available throughout the hotel.

Currently there are 21 rooms in three different categories: twin rooms, deluxe rooms and double rooms.

According to Ms Sompasong, there is no plan yet to expand her hotels to other provinces but she does plan to expand and add more rooms in the future although she was unable to disclose exactly how many.

Currently, a total of 18 employees are working with Athena Hotel, most of these young staffers are from various districts in the province.

“We are also happy to help our province to boost the recruitment rates for local people, offering them employment so that they can earn their own incomes or support their families,” Ms Sompasong said.

In the fu ture, she is planning to upgrade her staff's foreign langu age skills in order to boost their interaction with international clients.

Interested customers can contact the reservations sector of the hotel directly on (+856 31) 214 888 or locate them via the internet.
