Work begins on Viglacera industrial zone in Thai Binh Province

Viglacera Corporation kicked off construction of the first phase of its Tien Hai-Viglacera Industrial Zone in the northern province of Thai Binh on Friday.

Covering 32ha, the cost of the industrial zone's first phase of construction is expected to reach VND174 billion (US$7.74 million). Once completed in September 2016, some 30,000 local jobs will be created, Vietnamplus.vn reports.

In his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Minister of Construction Pham Hong Ha praised new investment plans made by Viglacera to develop urban areas and industrial zones. He also requested local authorities to assist in the implementation of the project.

On the same day, Vigracera inaugurated the expansion of its granite tile factory in the province. The factory has a combined capacity of two million square metres of tile per year, and will create 150 jobs.
