Nguyen Duc Khuong among top 200 young economists
Nguyen Duc Khuong, a Vietnamese economist, has just been ranked 7th out of the world's top 200 young economists by Research Papers in Economics (RePEc).
The top 200 young economists were selected from a pool of 18,625 candidates whose first publication of any kind was published 10 or fewer years ago.
Compared to 2015, Khuong has jumped five levels, from 12th place to 7th place.
Khuong holds an MSc and PhD in Finance from the University of Grenoble II (France) and obtained his Habilitation for Supervising Doctoral Research in Management Sciences in June 2009.
He also completed the "Leaders in Development" program at Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Executive Education, in 2013.
In January 2013, he joined France-based IPAG Business School as a Professor of Finance and Deputy Director for Research.
Before joining the IPAG Business School, he served as a Professor of Finance and Head of the Department of Finance and Information Systems at ISC Paris School of Management (2006-2012), as Assistant Professor of Finance at Grenoble Graduate Institute of Business (2005-2006) and Research and Teaching Assistant at EM Lyon Business School (2003-2005).
Khuong is also a Non-Resident Research Fellow at the School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Indiana University, and a Research Associate at the Department of Finance, Centre d'Economie de la Sorbonne, Universite Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne, France.
He has joined the editorial board of several economics-finance journals and organised many international conferences.
Khuong was formerly the president of the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (France), president of Viet Nam Finance Association International (VFAI) and executive secretary of VFAI. He is currently a Board member of the Asian Finance Association.
Those who ranked in the top 10 of the young economists list are the alumni of schools such as The University of Chicago, MIT, Yale and The Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania in the United States, as well as the Toulouse School of Economics in France, and so on.
RePEc is the collaborative effort of hundreds of volunteers in 87 countries to enhance the dissemination of research in economics and related sciences. The heart of the project is a decentralised bibliographic database of working papers, journal articles, books, book chapters and software components, all maintained by volunteers. The collected data are then used in various services that deliver it to users or enhance it.
So far, more than 1,800 archives from 86 countries have contributed some 2 million research pieces from 2,300 journals and 4,300 working paper series. Some 46,000 authors have registered and 75,000 email subscriptions are served every week.
