Tourist numbers and revenue climb in 2015

An estimated 4.8 million international tourists visited Cambodia in 2015, marking a modest 6-per-cent increase over the previous year, Top Sopheak, an undersecretary of state at the Ministry of Tourism, said on Sunday at the Cambodia Rice Forum in Phnom Penh.

Visitors spent around $3.5 billion in 2015, compared to $3 billion a year earlier, he said.

Tourism accounts for nearly 20 per cent of Cambodia’s GDP.
