Kingdom rice production to top 9.2 million tonnes

Cambodia’s total rice production this year will exceed 9.2 million tonnes, according preliminary estimates of rice harvested in 24 provinces and compiled by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The figures, posted on Facebook yesterday by ministry spokesman Eang Sophalleth, showed nearly 2.1 million tonnes of dry season rice harvested this year, and another 7.1 million tonnes of rainy season crop expected by the end of 2015.
