DPM inaugurates urea feedstock plant

The HOSE-listed PetroVietnam Fertiliser and Chemicals Corporation (DPM) has opened a new factory to produce UFC85, an essential feedstock in urea production.

The VND500 billion (US$22 million) facility is situated in the Phu My Fertiliser Plant premises in Ba Ria–Vung Tau Province, and has an annual capacity of 15,000 tonnes.

It employs the methanol oxidation technology with a metal oxide catalyst licensed by Haldor Topsoe of Denmark.

DPM manages and operates the Phu My Fertiliser Plant, which produces 800,000 tonnes of urea a year to meet around 40 per cent of domestic demand.
