Cambodia and Belarus enact investment law
King Norodom Sihamoni promulgated a law that provides reciprocal protection of investments between Cambodia and Belarus, according to an announcement on a government website.
The new legislation is expected to increase trade and investment. Trade between Cambodia and Belarus topped $9.9 million in 2014, according to government data.
Major Belarusian exports to Cambodia include tractors and their spare parts, fertilisers and tyres. Cambodia’s chief exports to Belarus are agricultural products, textiles and footwear.
Last year, a joint tractor-making factory opened in Cambodia.
