Tourism project in Thanh Hoa Province receives five-stars

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism yesterday awarded five stars to the FLC Samson Beach and Golf Resort, invested by FLC Group, in central Thanh Hoa Province.

This is the first tourism project in the province to receive the five-star award.

The complex, spread over 200 hectares, was built at a cost of more than VND5.5 trillion (more than US$250 million).

The development includes a 1,300-seat convention centre, an 18-hole golf course, the five-star Fusion Resort Samson hotel with nearly 100 rooms, the four-star La Carte Samson hotel with 600 rooms and bungalows, and more than 1,000 villas.

The resort has a special location near Sam Son Beach and next to the Ma River.

It also has set a record as the complex with the largest number of swimming pools in Viet Nam, at 152, including a 5,100sq.m salt water swimming pool.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Huong Tran Kieu Dung, FLC general director, said the complex was given the five-star award following 10 months of construction and three months of operation.

"FLC has confirmed the success of its flash construction progress and quality," Dung said.

Pham Dang Quyen, vice chairman of the provincial People's Committee, said the complex has met the strict requirements set for international five-star hotels.
