Alibaba authorises Viet Nam reseller

Chinese e-commerce group Alibaba has authorised CleverAds Company to be its reseller in Viet Nam, announcing the partnership in Ha Noi on August 31.

Ha Noi-based CleverAds, said in an online report, that after a year of negotiations it will now provide Alibaba's Global Gold Supplier (GGS) service to international exporters.

Gold Supplier is the highest and most premium level of membership on Alibaba.com, helping maximise exposure to companies and business opportunities.

"E-commerce is an important market in Viet Nam with enormous potential, especially in import and export," Tran Xuan Thuy, a representative of Alibaba said, and added that the co-operation would help Alibaba seek new markets and customers.

CleverAds Chief Executive Officer Nguyen Khanh Trinh said importers and exporters on Alibaba.com will also benefit from advertisements on Google and Facebook, since his firm has already partnered with these companies.

There are about 400,000 accounts of Vietnamese enterprises on Alibaba.com, and only about 1,000 of them using GGS. The number of domestic firms using Alibaba services is modest compared with the country's 27,000 exporters having tax declarations, Trinh said.

According to Vietnamplus, GGS is priced at US$6,000 per year for a high-class package, $3,000 per year for an average package, and $1,399 per year for a basic package. In Viet Nam, the final one is discounted to $999 per year.

CleverAds deals with services such as social network advertisements, social marketing and email marketing. Alibaba provides consumer-to-consumer, business-to-consumer and business-to-business sales services via web portals.
